Overlooking Encounter Bay, Granite Island, and beyond to Kangaroo Island, this natural landmark is a must-visit for anyone seeking stunning coastal scenery and iconic photo opportunities.

What to See & Do at The Bluff Lookout

  • Scenic Views – Take in 360-degree views of the coastline and sparkling blue waters. The lookout is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset.
  • Hiking Trails – Explore the Heysen Trail or Bluff Summit Walk, with varying difficulty levels and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife along the way.
  • Whale Watching – From May to October, The Bluff is a prime location to spot Southern Right Whales during their annual migration.

How to Visit The Bluff Lookout

The Bluff is easily accessible by car or on foot. A car park is available at the base, with walking trails leading to the summit. The Bluff Summit Walk is a moderate climb, taking approximately 30 minutes.
